Mind-blowing staff, super close to cafes, pubs, and shops, jaw-dropping scenery nearby. Good laundry facilities, clean toilets, and nice communal spaces. Clean sheets in a historic building.

The shared dormitory rooms at YHA Port Elliot Beach House are absolutely cozy and comfortable. I really loved the laid-back vibe and friendly atmosphere in the rooms. It felt like sleeping over at a friend's place rather than a traditional hostel. The free secure lockers provided peace of mind for a backpacker like me.
Personally, I found the communal bathrooms a bit too crowded for my liking. But hey, that's just my opinion, and I understand that some people might actually enjoy the buzzing social scene there.

The location was fantastic, with the beautiful Port Elliot beach just a short walk from our comfortable accommodation. We spent our days surfing, swimming, and even kayaking, enjoying the crystal-clear waters and sandy shores. It was the perfect place for our family to relax and have fun together.
My children wanted more activities specifically tailored for younger kids.

The communal living at Beach House YHA created a great atmosphere and allowed us to meet amazing people. The common rooms were well-appointed and the TV lounge was separate, ensuring a quiet and enjoyable experience. The hostel was spotlessly clean and the access to fresh herbs and produce in the garden was a bonus. Despite warnings about weak Wi-Fi, we were able to host videoconferencing meetings without interruption. And of course, the million-dollar view from the second-floor balcony was absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

We really got great value for our money at this hostel. The rooms were clean and cozy, and our en-suite family room even had its own balcony with stunning views of the beach and coastline. The location was perfect, right near the beach and prime whale watching areas. The staff were lovely and provided us with all the amenities we needed, including umbrellas and towels for the beach.
The breakfast experience could have been improved with more variety and options.

Had a Christmas stay in a place with stunning views and great communal rooms. the guest kitchen was fantastic for cooking meals, and the other guests were friendly. the location was superb for visiting nearby towns and attractions.
The room was a bit cramped and basic for the Christmas price I paid. the lack of storage and no ensuite were minor nuisances.

A cozy and clean hostel with a friendly receptionist. the location has breathtaking views and is convenient to the town and beach. Amenities include a great kitchen, separate TV lounge, and access to fresh garden produce.
Limited restroom capacity could mean longer waits for a shared restroom.

Great view of the ocean and close to the beach, easy access to cafes and shops. The beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of space for lounging around. The kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use. a very nice hostel.
Some noise from the street and nearby businesses can be heard in the rooms. The bathrooms were not as clean as they could have been.

really clean - amazing location near the steam-train station - got some great local tips from the friendly staff, and loved the jigsaw puzzle in the common area.
Would be happy to recommend.
